Job Design Methods in HRM

Job designing is one of the functions which is available in the human resource management and this is referring to the management of the responsibilities and the actions which the employee needed to take care when undertaking the employment. Accordingly, it is very important to have better access and acceleration in the methods in job designing as it is important for the employees to understand the responsibilities and the duties in the respective job (Raharjo et al, 2018).

Job designing needs to have the clear description over the physical and mental movements and  mentioning of the respective duties in a clear manner which is ending with the standard process in undertaking necessary process (Al-Musadieq et al, 2018).

The job designing needed to be matched with the attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors of the employees as well in order to get the maximum outcomes.

There are different methods in the job deigning and these are;

ü  Job Rotation

ü  Job Enlargement

ü  Job Enrichment

Job rotation can be recorded and mentioned as the movement of the employees form one job to another and making the standardization for different tasks (Hochdörffer et al, 2018). This is making the different experiences in the employees and helping in reducing the fatigue and dissatisfaction which they can gain from the same job for a longer duration. Job rotation is very important to have the mind relaxing and to have various skills and to develop abilities in employees as well.

Next method is the job enlargement. This is referring to the increasing of the scope of the job by enlarging the applications and duties in the job applications and this is resulting the increasing of the responsibilities for one employee.

This method has its own advantages and the disadvantages while it needed to be identified the best methods in the enlargement to get the needed applications in a corrective manner (Gichuki & Munjuri, 2018). There are different features in the job enlargement as well which need higher consideration and attention.

The third method of job designing is the job enrichment. This is referring to the addition of more dimensions in the current job application in order to make the employees motivated and satisfied (Magaji et al, 2017).

Creation of the autonomy, increasing skill variety, addition of the meaning and respect to the job and proving feedbacks can be the actions which are included in the job enrichment and it is one of the successful methods in the job designing.

Conclusion

Job designing is one of the most important HR function in the organizations and it is needed to have better accelerations in the creation of proper description in job designing to gain the employee satisfaction as well. There are different methods in the job designing and most famous methods are the job rotation, job enlargement and job enrichment. Identifications of the clear methods in the job designing is important to gain maximum outcomes and it is very important to have the clear understanding on the outcomes as well.

Job design in HRM can be understood as the process through which the job process is defined, the work of the group is organized, which involves structuring the workplace on the basis of the job analysis. In job design, HR also has to take into consideration the whole organization's goal so that the individual and group goal is aligned in such a way that the organizational goal is achieved.
